Naples, FL – With unanimous approval from The City Council, the iconic Great Canoe Races of Naples are making a highly anticipated return for their 45th edition, bringing a fresh and exciting experience to the community. Set to take place on June 14th 2025 at the scenic Baker Park in Naples, Florida, this beloved tradition has been reimagined to offer even more thrills, competition, and fun for participants and spectators alike.
Originally launched decades ago as a community event, the Great Canoe Races have evolved into a staple of Naples’ sporting and social calendar. This year’s reinvented edition promises an exhilarating day of high-energy races, team camaraderie, and waterfront entertainment. Whether you're an experienced paddler or a first-time racer, the event welcomes all skill levels, encouraging participation from families, businesses, and organizations looking to make waves in this historic competition.
YPN is also introducing an all new “Naples First Responder heat” for all active members of Naples Police, Fire, Emergency Services, and Florida Wild life Commission to compete for 1 trophy and bragging rights for the next year! Fully sponsored, registrations are first come first serve.
Beyond the races, attendees can look forward to a lively festival atmosphere featuring food vendors, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities, making Baker Park the place to be on June 14th. Proceeds from the event will support local environmental and community initiatives, reinforcing the Great Canoe Races’ commitment to giving back to Naples.
“We are thrilled to bring back this cherished tradition in an exciting new way,” said Matt Young, Director of events at YPN. “The Great Canoe Races have always been about community spirit, friendly competition, and celebrating our beautiful waterways. This year, we’re elevating the experience to create lasting memories for everyone involved.”
Registration is now open, and early sign-ups are encouraged as space is limited. For more information, sponsorship opportunities, or to sign up as a racer, visit https://www.naplescanoeraces.com/ or contact development@ypnaples.com
