2026 Official Canoe Race Art Contest

The Great Canoe Races of Naples is hosting a community-wide art competition to select the official 2026 event poster, t-shirt artwork, and medal design. The contest is open to:
Local artists
Students (middle school, high school, and collegiate)
Art teachers, hobbyists, and professional illustrators
Graphic designers and digital artists
The theme “Legends of the Gulf” encourages artists to explore the Gulf of Mexico’s myths, marine life, folklore, heritage, and adventurous spirit. Submissions can be digital, hand-drawn, painted, or mixed-media (submitted as a high-res scan).

Submission Guidelines
Artists must submit:
A. One complete entry including:
Poster Design (vertical orientation, 18x24)
T-Shirt Graphic (simple, 1–4 colors preferred)
Medal Concept (front-side design only)
Artists may submit multiple entries, but each must be submitted separately.
B. Technical Requirements
Digital files: PNG, JPG, or PDF
Minimum resolution: 300 dpi
Hand-drawn or painted artwork must be scanned or photographed professionally
No copyrighted material unless the artist created it
Entries must reflect the theme “Legends of the Gulf”

Top 3 Winners
Free 10x10 vendor booth at the 2026 Races to display and sell artwork
Spotlight on website, newsletter, and social media
Invitation to unveiling ceremony
VIP access at the race
Printed posters with credit line
Featured inside the event program booklet
Grand Prize Winner
Artwork becomes the Official 2026 Races Poster
Used on t-shirts, promotional materials, and medals
Honorable Mentions
Will be shown online and at the event check-in area
Social media showcase
Rights & Usage
Artists retain copyright, but grant the Great Canoe Races of Naples:
The right to reproduce winning artwork for merchandise, posters, t-shirts, medals, and promotional use
Non-exclusive rights (artist may still sell prints or portfolios)
Credit will be given wherever artwork is used
